Christchurch Vegetarian Society Treated to a Feast
Another year has passed, and the Christchurch Vegetarian Society has yet again held their annual dinner at the Tea House of Fo Guang Shan South Island, on the night of 13th June. The purpose of this dinner was to recruit new members and to promote vegetarian food.
The Tea House prepared a variety of Chinese and western-style delicacies, and presented them through a buffet-style setting. The elegant lighting and mellow music piping through created a relaxing and peaceful dining atmosphere. The society’s official website commends the vegetarian food served at the Tea House, which is located in a “contemporary building”.
The banquet began at 7pm, and saw 69 members attend. During the two-hour dinner, the guests cleaned the plates; this being a testament to how delicious the food was. Most of them were new to the Tea House, so they filled themselves in with information from the Reception. Following the dinner, the guests were taken for a tour of the Temple and Art Gallery, and with that the annual Vegetarian Society Dinner drew to a marvelous conclusion.
