Devonport Probus Club and their representative Maureen McMillan visit
In order to provide their members with unique outdoor activities, members of the Devonport Probus Club and their representative Maureen McMillan visited the Fo Guang Shan Temple on Tuesday the 9th of June. Guide Ruth Wagner was in charge of the tour which concluded with lunch at the Tea House. A number of the Probus Club group who were trying vegetarian food for the first time were amazed and said they loved the taste. Although it was raining heavily the elders still took the opportunity to visit the Fo Guang Shan Museum of Arts and the exhibition of Dr. Guo Yan Qiao’s Painting and Calligraphy. The visit will help them to understand the integration of Chinese culture and Buddhism and many members of the group expressed a desire to come back to visit the temple again in the future.
