Manukau City CEO Witnesses Majestic FGS South Island

01 / 02

The CEO of Manukau City, Mr. Leigh Auton and his wife Jenny Auton visited FGS South Island on 28th of May. Mr. and Mrs. Auton have a good rapport with Venerable Abbess Manshin. They were here to fulfill their promise to Venerable Abbess Manshin for visiting the Temple after being drawn in by her introduction of the building of Fo Guang Shan South Island.

At the Temple, they were welcomed Venerable Juexi and Fo Guang Yuan Art Gallery South Island assistant curator, See Shen Lee, who together gave them a tour of the Temple and Embroidery Exhibition.

The Chan painting on the wall at the court yard was done by Mr. Clark Esplin, who is also the brother in-law of Jenny Auton. The Autons’ trip to the Temple was an opportunity for the couple to witness his work of art. Leigh and Jenny had lots of praise for the Temple’s architecture.
Later on, the Autons had a pleasant time at the Tea House while tucking on afternoon tea. The Temple presented the guests with a copy of “Annual Report of BLIA South Island 2008” and “Magazine of YAD New Zealand”. Mr. Leigh informed Venerable Abbess Manshin that they had fulfilled their promise to visit the Temple in South Island.
