Embroidery Exhibition Flooded by Art Enthusiasts

On 19th May, over one hundred Christchurch embroidery lovers visited Fo Guang Yuan Art Gallery South Island of Fo Guang Shan South Island due to the recent articles regarding ‘Wonders of Embroidery - Yao Hong Ying Embroidery Exhibition’ in Christchurch Mail. Assistant Curator of Fo Guang Yuan Art Gallery South Island Ms. See Shen Lee said that art lovers started to arrive at ten in the morning and continued throughout the day. Every one of the visitors gave very positive comments regarding the exhibition and described Ms. Yao Hong Ying’s attempt to bring embroidery onto a whole new level to be unbelievably amazing. Many of the visitors also purchased copies of Yao Hong Ying’s book, which contained a collection of her masterpieces, to treasure this once in a life time experience and to show family and friends.

The architectural design of Fo Guang Shan South Island Temple also made the visitors feel very comfortable. Artworks are not just limited to the art gallery, but artworks are around every corner and in every corridor, which made the whole building feel like a gallery. The spaciousness of the art gallery and tea house brought out the elegance of the place and allowed visitors to sit down and have a very relaxed afternoon tea. The guests also expressed their eagerness to get their friends and family to come to Fo Guang Shan South Island to see the amazing artworks for themselves.
