Hustle and Bustle for BLIA as Preparation Continues

BLIA South Island’s second preparation meeting for International Buddha’s Light Day was held on 14th May. In the presence of Venerable Juexi, the meeting was chaired by BLIA South Island President Almeric Cheng, and was attended by over ten committee and YAD members.

Each group reported their progress: Ms. Lee of the administration group estimated that hundreds of participants will attend this event; YAD1 President Jason Liu and his YAD members will be in charge of the sound system and program for the event; See Shen Lee will lead the YAD who will be in the setup and food serving group. Ms. Gina Chen of the refreshments group will prepare the light meals. President Cheng expressed his appreciation for everyone’s efforts in raising the standards for the event.

The meeting continued with the discussion of the “New Zealand BLIA 2nd Workshop and Gathering”. The gathering is organised by BLIA North Island, and will be held at the beginning of June in the North Island. When President Cheng encouraged all the committee members to participate in this event, many members responded enthuastically.
