Three members of Christchurch Embroidery Society, who are also the regular customers of Tea House, arrived at Fo Guang Yuan Art Gallery South Island on the morning of 2nd of May for a visit. They visited the art gallery after hearing about the amazing artworks of Mrs. Yao. FGY Art Gallery Assistant Curator See Shen Lee took them for a tour of the exhibition. After the tour, the embroiderers had lunch at the Tea House.
The trio expressed their excitement of having the chance to see the artworks in Christchurch. Even though the visitors have embroidered their own works of art, they have full respect for Mrs. Yao’s diligent attitude. After their meal, the visitors re-visited the Art Gallery, as they just could not part with the inspiring artwork. They also bought a book of Mrs. Yao’s embroidery work as a permanent reference and a source of inspiration.
