Fund raising by BLIA Youth for the Youth Education Trust.

01 / 04

On the first weekend of November, BLIA Youth leader Nick and Group 1 leader Karzin led a group of BLIA youth members on a mission to raise fund for the BLIA Youth Education Trust. The mission involved washing cars for the public for a fee. It attracted a number of enquiries from passers-by.

Nick said despite washing cars for the first time, some members learnt through this experience to be patient and diligent. They started from being disorientated and ended up doing it efficiently and professionally. Members felt a sense of achievement in the end.

Member Pricilla said despite busy preparing for the year end examination, it was nice to have a break and did the washings and took part in other BLIA activities on the week end. The experience not only enlightened her life but also taught her to manage time better, achieving more in less time. She now understands Master’s philosophy of “Living over 300 years”

With Venerable Master Hsing Yun’s “Foster Talent through Education” in mind, the BLIA Youth will continue the car-wash missions on weekends, using these activities to cultivate the Buddhism spirit and to reflect on one’s patience, perseverance and responsibility. It is great to know that many owners have already pre-booked for the car wash in support of the missions.
