Opening Ceremony for Tiffany Singh’s “The Great Natural Elements” Exhibition

The opening ceremony for Tiffany Singh’s exhibition “Mahabhuta – The Great Natural Element” was held at the temple on 27th September. This exhibition was organised together by Malcolm Smith Gallery and Fo Guang Yuan Art Gallery. The ceremony was attended by the artist Tiffany Singh, Uxbridge Curator Vickie Bowers, Manager Balamohan Shingade, Head of Auckland Taipei Economics development office Mr Zhou Zhongxin, Chinese calligraphy artist Li Duokuang, Police Inspector Naidoo, Fo Guang Yuan Art Gallery curator Venerable Abbess Manshin, BLIA Members and other visitor altogether 70 people in attendance. The exhibition started with a traditional Indian music performance by Balamohan Shingade and Pranav Nimbargi.

This exhibition showcased Owairoa citizen’s collective contemplation on the elements of nature. The artist skilfully led the audiences to look at the 5 flavours of our complicate modern society, including views, opinions, culture and faith, oral accounts of history and political commentary.

The Abbess praised the artist for expressing her personal experience through the natural elements, bringing more wisdom and positivity to society.

Special guest Miss Ella expressed that her father taught her how to find herself in life and her mother taught her how to have compassion and sincerity. Throughout her art career she managed to find ways to benefit society through traditional art. Medium of art can also bring people closer. She also demonstrated the 4 Great Elements of Earth, Water, Fire and Air by sitting meditation for the audiences.

Uxbridge Manager Balamohan Shingade expressed this exhibition was only possible due to the cooperation of Fo Guang Yuan Art Gallery.

Tiffany praised the temple’s family atmosphere while setting up her exhibition, this whole venue is full of positive energy that is in touch with the natural elements. She explained that the interior and external art pieces are not merely imaginative tranquillity but are relevant to our daily lives, one example being that bees, fragrant flowers, soil and water are interrelated and not a part. The combination of the elements allows us to feel enriched. Therefore protecting our natural environment is everyone’s responsibility, philosophy, political passion and harmony between people. The artist also guided everyone to enjoy the music of the wind chimes hanging among the cheery blossom trees in the courtyard.
