Offering Ceremony Rehearsal Shows Multicultural Spirit
With the Buddha’s Birthday Celebration arriving soon, a rehearsal for the Buddha’s Birthday Offering Ceremony was held at FGS South Island on 9th April. Together, Venerable Juexi and assistant leader of the Offering Group, Mrs. Lee, ran through the procedure of the Offering Ceremony with the Offering participants. Those present included BLIA South Island Vice-president Mei-Hua Chen, Shrine Attendants’ Group leader, Louisa Guo, Administration Leader Mrs. Lee and Offering Ceremony participants, totaling 60 people.
Equipped with their vibrant costumes from various parts of the wolrd, everyone gathered at the Buddha Hall, and Venerable Juexi explained the meaning of Offering and its’ significance. Following on, Venerable Juexi explained the procedure for the entire ceremony, and reminded everyone to maintain a joyful state of being while participating in the Offering in order to form good affinities with the Buddha and the public.
Within the multicultural environment of the Buddha Hall, the volunteers adopted a serious learning attitude during the rehearsal session. All of them proved to be quick learners, and they were able to learn the important points of Offering as well as tips and tricks to perfect their presentation. They were excited to have the opportunity to participate and are eagerly waiting for the arrival of the Ceremony. Everyone had confidence that their performance during the Buddha’s Birthday Offering Ceremony will be one that will leave all the guests and visitors with a good impression.
