01 / 05

On 5th April, Venerable Abbess Manshin of FGS New Zealand had a talk with more than 20 BLIA South Island members who participated in FGS North Island’s Buddhass Birthday Celebration. Venerable Juexi, BLIA South Island Vice-presidents Mei-Hua Chen and Jack Liu, Advisor Sandy Liao, committee members Mrs. Chen and Mrs. Louisa Kuo, members of YAD, as well as BLIA North Island President Mrs. Tsai and Vice-president Mr. Chen were among those who attended the sharing with Abbess.

Vice-president Jack Liu said that the purpose for this visit was to learn from the organizing experience of BLIA North Island, and apply it to the Buddha’s Birthday Celebration in South Island. As one of the organizers of the event, he commented that the activities conducted by FGS are always challenging, and stressed the importance of communication between the Ceremony Group and VIP Recipients Group during the Buddha’s Birthday Celebration. He also suggested that only a flexible person will be able to handle the forever changing situations that may occur.

In addition, United Kingdom “Dun Huang” dance teacher Ms. Ruby and other dancers shared their learning experiences from situations where they encountered changes in regards to the performing ground, weather and geographic location. They explained that it is vital that they are always prepared to make changes during their performance to present the best performance.

The YAD members also expressed their gratitude to the Temple for providing a stage for them to perform and a space for a space for them to discover themselves. They also gave mention to all the support they received from everyone while completing their tasks.
BLIA South Island member Mrs. Wu cited from the article “Flexibility” by Grand Master, stating that “facing and solving problems using wisdom is the learning direction for everyone”.

From that, Venerable Abbess Manshin reminded everyone to study the article “Flexibility”, so that they can learn how to improve their flexibility and responsiveness to changes in situations. BLIA North Island President Mrs. Tsai also expressed her gratitude to the committee members of BLIA South Island for all their help and support. Abbess hopes that there can be increased interaction between the North and South Island BLIA members so that they can learn from each other’s experience and foster mutual understanding, and most importantly work together to allow Humanistic Buddhism to flourish in New Zealand.
