Qing Ming Dharma Function- A Chance For Filial Piety

01 / 10

In conjunction with the “Qing Ming Festival”, the annual Qing Ming Dharma Function was held at FGS South Island on 4th April, where over 100 devotees attended.

The Dharma Function began at 10am and was divided into two sessions. Venerable Rulian led the devotees in prostrations for the “Diamond Sutra Great Repentance Service” and in Script reading. The devotees were moved by both the solemn atmosphere in the Buddha Hall and the majestic flow of chanting.

During the Dharma talk, Venerable Juexi exemplified Buddhism’s view on filial piety, by sharing with everyone the story of Sakyamuni Buddha, where as a monk, Buddha carried the casket of his late father. Venerable Juexi also encouraged the devotees to guide their parents towards having faith in the Triple Gem and do good deeds on behalf of their late parents by printing Dharma books; as doing so is the highest level of respecting ones parents.
