This a 68 BNZ volunteers arrived at the temple led by their managers Rock and Li Cui. They were organised into 5 teams to carry out various tasks at the temple including sweeping, weeding, cleaning the kitchen and various Shrines. The volunteers really showed the strength of team work.
Volunteer Ivy Xie expressed that “Closed for Good” has 200 different venues to choose from, so she is glad to have chosen the temple to reinforce her faith and be closer to the Buddha. The process of weeding has taught her the persevering strength of life, where if the weed hasn’t been uprooted it will grow again with the coming spring. Therefore during our daily lives we need to tidy and adjust ourselves. This opportunity to serve has really allowed her to distress and relax.
Volunteer Roger expressed that cleaning all the windows, frames and pillars were really good exercise. Another volunteer Natasha the Tang dynasty architectures were very beautiful which brought joy to her heart. She is also glad to learn more about Buddhist through this volunteering opportunity and hopes to return again soon.
Minister in Charge Venerable Juehao thanked the volunteers by giving them gifts of “2015 BLIA Activities Report” and books “Human world”.
