01 / 08

Good news has come for the family of BLIA South Island Vice-president Mei Hua Chen and husband Hu Gao Xin. The eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Hu, Hu Gao Wei-Qin and bride Fu Zi have been together in relationship for many years.

After receiving consent from the parents of both families, the couple completed their marriage registration in Christchurch city on Monday, 9th March.

About twenty people attended the ceremony, including the friends of the bride and bride-groom, BLIA South Island Advisors John Lai and Sandy Liao, President Mr Almeric Cheng and his wife, as well as other BLIA committee members. Venerable Juexi was invited to be the witness of the marriage.

After a short speech by the host, the couples took the marriage vows and exchanged rings as a gesture of being lawfully wedded. They tied the knot under the blessings of friends and family who were present.

The newly-weds plan to have a Buddhist Matrimony Ceremony on 19th April at Fo Guang Shan South Island Temple to guarantee their marriage in the Buddhist way.
