Working Towards Perfection-BLIA Holds 3rd Meeting
On 14th March, the third preparation meeting for the Buddha’s Birthday Celebration was held. BLIA South Island President Mr. Almeric Cheng chaired the meeting which was attended by BLIA South Island’s Advisors, committee members and Young Adults Division members, totaling 15 people.
During the meeting, each group took turns to present their progress report. The publicity and performance groups’ have taken the initiative to liaise with relevant contacts, and the ticket group has indicated that there is room of improvement in the sales of tickets, and that they need to be industrious to reach their goal.
Venerable Abbess Manshin hopes to place emphasis on religion and faith during this year's Buddha’s Birthday Celebration. In addition, Abbess explained that to build a strong foundation for Buddhism in New Zealand, the baby blessing ceremony and the offering ceremony by various groups in the Christchurch community should be considered as the main attraction, whereby many people from the local community can participate in and experience Buddhism culture for themselves. To ensure the event will be of high quality, another preparatory meeting was set for 21st March.
