Kuan Yin Blessing Dharma Function- Majestic and Joyous
On 14th March, the Kuan Yin Blessing Dharma Function was held at Fo Guang Shan South Island. Venerable Abbess Manshin was invited to chair the Dharma Function, and nearly 80 devotees attended.
During the Dharma function, devotees made offerings to the Buddha, such as incense burners, glass lights and Sutras. BLIA South Island Young Adults Division members also participated in the offering ceremony. The Dharma function included chanting: the “Chapter on the Universal Gateway of Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva” from the Lotus Blossom Sutra; the “Dharani of the Most Compassionate One”; the “Great Dharani of Six Words” and reading the “Prayers for Kuan Yin” to name several.
During the Dharma talk, Venerable Abbess Manshin gave an explanation of the “five skandhas”, “six roots” and “six senses”, as well as the relationship between wisdom and repentance. Abbess also encouraged the devotees to attend more Dharma functions in order to strengthen their faith and facilitate self-improvement. The moving two-hour long function left everyone with joy and contentment, as well as the anticipation of the next Dharma function.
