BLIA Conducts First Director’s Meeting For 2009

BLIA South Island held their first committee meeting for the year 2009 on 6th March. Under the guidance of Venerable Abbess Manshin, BLIA President Mr. Almeric Cheng chaired the meeting, and in total, twenty committee members attended.

The President of each Sub-chapter reported the activities and affairs they conducted and attended to during the past two months, which included study groups, visual seminars and the Red Cross lunch box delivery service.

The meeting agenda included: 1. Attending the Land and Water Dharma Function at Nan Tien Temple 2. Attending the 2009 World BLIA meeting 3. Welcoming the Srimala College students 4. Integration party between North Island and South Island BLIA. 5. Full support for the preparation of Buddha’s Birthday.

Venerable Abbess Manshin said that the Directors of BLIA are the core of BLIA, and they need to set themselves up as good role models, whilst remembering to motivate and encourage the members to participate in activities, and support the President by sharing the workload, and thus, contributing to the realisation of BLIA’s mission.
