Other guests present included Deputy Chief Executive Superintendent Wallace Haumaha, National Manager Training Superintendent John Price and 12 representatives from different religions.

According to the police policy of multiculturalism as well as including over 100 ethnic groups in the force including various Iwis, this prayer room was established so the officers and their families can have a space to enjoy their own respective religious practices together. This facility included a small library stocking many different religious and cultural sources.

Superintendents Haumaha and Price thanked the police forces for planning and completing this great facility for the academy. It will be a great space for dialogue and indicate a right step toward a greater future for New Zealand.

Venerable Abbess Manshin gave a gift of 20 English translated books by Venerable Master Hsing Yun for this facility. She hopes they can become great spiritual nutritent for officers by bringing them wisdom and contemplation so they can better serve society.
