Yao Hong Ying’s Embroidery Exhibition Receives Praise

Since the launch of the “Wonders of Embroidery – Yao Hong Ying Embroidery Art Exhibition” on the 28th of February, the exhibition has attracted over two hundred visitors and groups to Fo Guang Yuan Art Gallery South Island.

Those who witnessed the amazing works of art could not stop praising it, and expressed that they felt obliged to spread the good news to the people around them, and some even felt the urge to gather groups for visits, so that many others can witness the spectacular exhibition for themselves. The Temple Reception also received numerous calls seeking information regarding guided tours of the Exhibition.

On 5th March, Fo Guang Shan South Island received letters of appreciation from Exhibition opening ceremony special guests’ MP National Ms. Nicky Wagner as well as Ann Bradley and Judith Hay from Canterbury Embroidery Association.

Through her letter, Ms. Wagner, who represented the Minister of Ethnic Affairs Hon. Pansy Wong during the opening ceremony, expressed her gratitude for Venerable Abbess Manshin’s kind invitation, as well as for the chance to witness the fine embroidery skills of Yao Hong Ying for herself. She also expressed that she wishes to organise groups to visit the Exhibition.

Ms. Bradley and Ms. Hay also expressed their gratitude for Abbess’s invitation, as well as the chance to see the fine and delicate works of art through their letter to Abbess.

In conjunction with the launch of the Exhibition, has released limited edition commemorative memorabilia, including sets of stamps with a series four different Embroidery designs printed on them as well as envelopes with the series of special stamps on it. Those who visit the Exhibition are welcome to purchase the collector’s items.
