01 / 14

The 4th day of “Festival of Culture Sharing” was held at the temple on 22nd May, this time Principal Heath McNeil took 142 students from Ormiston Primary for this event. The children were adorably polite and orderly.

Volunteer tour guide Annie explained the symbolism of striking the temple gong in the morning and sounding the drum in the evening. Meaning of “3 good deeds and 4 kinds of giving” and symbolism of the Mondo grass. To this the students listened attentively, which included several students with hearing impairment which received patient explanations from their teachers with sign language.

Police representative Stewart Green used pictures and fun questions and answers to let the kids know what they do every day, thus bringing the little ones closer.

The children especially liked the roulette table inside the Estuary art exhibition.

Then the children watched short films “Old man doing good deed”, “the Buddha” and “Little Monk sees the world”, which brought fun and education together. Then everyone joyfully learnt how to make lotus origami.

Before completion everyone took a group photo in front of the “3G4G tree” in Guang Ming Hall. To this event all students thanked the temple. Through culture and the spirit of 3G4G, this event planted wholesome seeds in young minds that will surely ripen into wisdom in the future.
