Annual Lantern Festival strengthens Team Spirit
As the Lantern Festival in Christchurch is just around the corner, on 13th February, the cooking team and souvenir shop team of FGS South Island were busy preparing for the annual event. BLIA Young Adults Division South Island will be selling sweet corn during the event; they have processed 400 sweet corns for sales.
The kitchen volunteers arrived at FGS South Island to prepare all the cooking ingredients required for the menu offered during the Festival, and includes fried noodles, fried tofu and coriander pancake to name a few.
The members of the souvenir team were preparing various types of Chinese traditional artworks for the overseas Chinese as a remembrance of their motherland.
Even though preparing for the annual Lantern Festival means being very busy, the youth, the committee members and the devotees are nevertheless gathered together with the spirit of helping each other in serving the community.
