Famous Embroidery Exhibition Coming Soon!

On 7th February, a meeting was held in order to prepare for the upcoming “Yao Hong Ying – The Wonders of Embroidery” exhibition at Fo Guang Yuan Art Gallery South Island. With Venerable Juexi present, Buddha’s Light International Association South Island President Mr. Almeric Cheng chaired the meeting, which was attended by over 20 committee members of BLIA South Island and BLIA Young Adults Division South Island.

“Yao Hong Ying – The Wonders of Embroidery” exhibition will open at Fo Guang Yuan Art Gallery South Island on 28th February and to allow everyone in Christchurch to get the chance to see this once in a life time collection, President Cheng emphasized the importance of publicity, media releases and a guest list in effectively making the exhibition known to the masses. In order for the opening ceremony and subsequent guided tours to run smoothly, everything must be rehearsed before hand and the tour guides will need to be trained.

Members of BLIA-YAD South Island will also be joining the exhibition staff in helping out with the opening ceremony in roles such as master of ceremonies, reception and several others. After vibrant discussion between the members of each group, a method of collaboration was found and together, they hope for a successful opening to the well deserved exhibition.
