Buddha’s Light Dharma Function Attracts Many Devotees

On 7th February, the 2009 Buddha’s Light Dharma Function was held at Fo Guang Shan South Island and over one hundred devotees came to the Temple to participate in the annual Dharma Function.

Venerable Juexi led everyone in chanting and offering lights to the Buddha, as well as reading Venerable Master Hsing Yun’s “Prayer for the Lamp Offering”. Venerable Juexi also shared her thoughts and experiences of Fo Guang Shan North Island’s Offering to Universal Buddhas and Celestial Beings Dharma Function.

She encouraged everyone to treasure what they have now, and to treasure the Dharma and grasp every opportunity to attend special Dharma Functions such as “Offering to Universal Buddhas and Celestial Beings” to strengthen their faith and their determination in learning the ways of the Buddha.

After the Dharma Function, the Temple presented everyone with longevity buns. As the Lantern Festival is arriving soon, the Temple prepared delicious glutinous rice ball soup for everyone.
