Famous FGS Vege Patty Soon At Chch Lantern Festival!
In preparation for the annual Lantern Festival held at Victoria Square in Christchurch, eight members of the Fo Guang Shan South Island Cooking Group gathered at the Temple once again to prepare the famous vegetable patties.
On 6th February, the cooking team gathered at the Temple for the second time to prepare the delicious vegetable patties, with their first preparation session being on 1st February. This year, the Lantern Festival will be held on 14th and 15th February and based on past experiences, it is estimated that over ten thousand people will be coming to the festival.
FGS’s vegetable patty already has a good reputation in Christchurch. It has been sold at the Lantern Festival during previous years and has been well received. A large number of people attend the Lantern Festival especially to taste the famous vegetable patties for themselves.
Members of the Cooking Group need to prepare over one thousand vegetable patties to meet the demands of the customers at the Lantern Festival. Vegetable patties are easy to make; the ingredients consist of only flour, sesame oil and coriander. Coriander, after special preparation and cooking methods, can make people who do not like the taste of coriander fall in love with it!
