2008 Fulfilling Buddha’s Light Dharma Function

On the 10th of January, Fo Guang Shan South Island Temple held the 2008 Fulfilling Buddha’s Light Dharma Function. Around 50 people attended, with Venerable Juexi leading the devotees in chanting ‘The Universal Gateway of Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva Chapter of the Lotus Blossom Sutra’, ‘Prayers for Light Offering’ as well as offering the lights to the Buddha.

Venerable Juexi gave a talk on the significance of offering light, and at the same time thanked the shrine attendants for their efforts in attending to the Buddha Hall’s lights and candles throughout the year. Venerable Juexi also encouraged everyone to form good affinities through service and also to offer a light on behalf of themselves, their families and society.
