The “National Diversity Advisory Panel” was established on 12th December 2014 with Venerable Abbess Manshin as one of its member.

This panel was organised by the police in order to promote plans and strategies by the police by consulting the leaders of many of the country’s ethnic and cultural organisations. The aim is reduce crime committed by the country’s many ethnicities. It is planned to have 3 discussion forums per year.

During the Chinese New Year’s celebration on 17th February, Police Commissioner Mike Bush is very happy that the Abbess can become its core member. He believes with Fo Guang Shan and BLIA, they will be able to bring Venerable Master Hsing Yun’s Humanistic Buddhism‘s “3 Good Deeds and 4 Kinds of Giving” to the community. The new panel will surely bring closer co-operation between the police and the people to bring about a peaceful New Zealand.

Police Superintendent Wallace Haumaha expressed that New Zealand is very fortunate compared to other nations that are experiencing terrorist attacks. The panel leaders will be able to bring the people’s voices to the police so they can be better in touch with the country’s multi-ethnic groups to establish real peace.
