Veterinarian talks to Children at Summer Camp

01 / 08

8th January 2009

English Subchapter member Graham Trail gave a talk to a group of children attending the Summer Camp today about his career as a Veterinary Surgeon. He explained to them the types of tasks he carries out in a typical work day, and showed a series of slides depicting the clinic where he works, and the repair of a dog's fractured leg. He explained how compassion and tolerance are necessary in his work both in relation to the animals that he treats but also when dealing with clients who may be upset or distressed that their pet is unwell. Two of the children at the camp expressed interest in becoming Veterinarians and Graham was able to answer their questions regarding the requirements to become a Veterinarian.
