New Zealand YAD's Fun Day at Work
On the 18th of December, directly after morning chanting and breakfast, North and South Island Buddha’s Light International Association Young Adults Division members began doing their part in keeping the Temple clean. Seven young men washed and scrub the second floor of the west buildings for around two hours, putting all their effort into making Fo Guang Shan North Island Temple sparkling clean.
During the previous day, the young men carted 2 tonnes of white pebbles from a farm back to the Temple. Apart from cleaning the Temple, the female YAD members helped to spread the white rocks around the temple gardens. The youth worked cooperatively and joyfully to get the task done. To round up a day of contribution, the youth swept the corridors of the Temple. Venerable Rulian prepared snacks as encouragement for the youths’ hard work.
