Director Yang Makes Visit to FGS

On 20th December, Director of Taipei Economic and Cultural Office based in Auckland Mr. Yang, with his wife and son made a visit to Fo Guang Shan South Island. They were warmly welcomed by Venerable Juexi, Buddha’s Light International Association South Island Advisor Mr. Lai, Vice President of BLIA Ms. Chen and BLIA Director Ms. Kuo. The Director and his family were given an introduction and tour to FGS South Island, the activities of BLIA and BLIA Young Adults Division. As Director Yang has been in touch with Buddhism in Taiwan for a number of years, seeing how FGS South Island presents the essence of Buddhism through its magnificent architecture amazed him and gave his highest admiration. Son of Director Yang, currently doing Arts major, decided to capture the character of the architecture through the use of his camera lens. He especially focused on the painting in the garden, the design of Buddha Hall as if it is getting straight to the point, the four Buddhist idols on the exterior of the building and the water that acts if it is protecting our temple. Director Yang also mentioned the unforgettable atmosphere which surrounded FGS North Island when he made his visit there. Upon Director Yang’s departure, Venerable Juexi presented them with Grand Master Venerable Hsing Yun’s publications and Special Reports by BLIA Young Adults Division South Island.
