Floral Week Comes to a Successful End
Since the opening of “Nature and Life – Floral Week” Fo Guang Shan South Island, many guests and visitors have been drawn to FGS South Island to see for themselves this much talked about event. Guests and visitors were particularly attracted to the floral demonstrations held every afternoon. Even though large crowds were attracted to this event each day, 19th December was a special highlight to the week with Mr. and Mrs. Wang, coming especially to see our floral demonstration presented by Mei Wang.
Many members of Buddha’s Light International Association brought their friends and family along to come and appreciate these amazing pieces of artwork. These include Ms. Guan bringing her neighbors Ms. Wu and her daughter, President of Ikebana International Ms. Ray King bringing her husband Peter and BLIA Young Adults Division South Island New Zealand member Albert Liu and Tom Chen bringing their parents and friends respectively.
Under the remarkable skills of demonstrator, Mei Wang, three pieces were produced within a short half an hour. Her pieces finely combined nature and creativity to produce works that were elegant and stunning. After the demonstration, guests and visitors strolled around Fo Guang Yuan Art Gallery South Island New Zealand to the 50 pieces of work exhibited there. They all commented that, the spacious interior design of FGS South Island nicely brings out the floral presentations. As ‘Nature and Life – Floral Week’ came to a triumphant end, the memories of the exhibition will live within the minds of the 400 guests who came to the exhibition.
