Special Visit Made By BLIA North Island Advisor Mr. Shih
On the 15th of December, New Zealand North Island BLIA Advisor Mr. and Mrs. Shih specially flew from Auckland to Christchurch to visit Fo Guang Shan South Island New Zealand. They were given a warm welcome by Venerable Abbess Manshin and Buddha’s Light International Association Advisor Mr. and Mrs. Lai. The Abbess personally took them for a tour around the temple; introduced the excellent artwork and architectural concepts behind the construction of the temple and its use of environmentally material. They were also shown the artworks that are currently on display in Fo Guang Yuan Art Gallery South Island, including “Nature and Life – Floral Week” and “Draw with Heart”. Mr. and Mrs. Shih had a short discussion with the South Island staff and exchanged ideas that they have come to learn. After the tour of the temple, they were taken to BLIA Advisor Mr. Lai’s lavender farm to witness the blooming lavender and to experience lavender harvesting. At the end of the day, they returned home with rich and joyful experiences of Christchurch.
