A Happy Buddhist Household Receives Blessings
On the 11th of December, Venerable Abbess Manshin conducted a house blessing at Buddha’s Light International Association South Island West Division president Lisa Tsai’s house. Those present included Venerable Juexi, BLIA director Louisa Kuo, BLIA member Gina Chen as well as members of BLIA Young Adults Division.
After Lisa showed the guests around her house, the visiting party sat down for supper, where Abbess Manshin shared some words on the experiences she had at the “6th International Buddhism Conference” which was held in Auckland. She also encouraged everyone to learn from their time at the temple, and deepen their understanding of the Dharma. In addition, Abbess Manshin suggested that people should do what needs to be done, instead of making excuses to try and wriggle out of the responsibility.
BLIA director Ming Yuan Kuo, shared her experiences of when she went back to Taiwan to attend the “Land and Water Dharma Function” as well as the “Benefactors’ meeting”, and told everyone that we should treasure what we learn and promote Buddhism, as it is more than just a religion.
Lisa Tsai thanked Venerable Abbess Manshin for coming, and for the happy and energetic atmosphere she brought with her. Abbess Manshin gave Lisa “Way of Life”, “Fo Guang Shan New Zealand Grand Opening Special Issue” and “ANZBYC Special Report”, in hope that it will be able to help her travel on towards the Bodhisattva Way, and expand her knowledge on Buddhism, so that she can ultimately be able to lead BLIA West Division towards the path of improvement. Abbess Manshin explained that although Lisa is a newly elected president, she has a willing heart to learn and become a good leader.
