A Group of Ladies Visit the Temple for the First Time

On the 22nd November, 17 members of Our Lady of Victories Catholic Womens’ League of Sockburn arrived at Fo Guang Shan South Island Temple to participate in a guided tour of the Temple. Buddha’s Light International Association South Island’s vice president Jack Liu led the group, with the first stop being Fo Guang Yuan Art Gallery 2.

There, the guests took time to appreciate the current exhibition “Draw with the Heart”. The second stop was the majestic Buddha Hall, where Mr. Liu gave a brief introduction of the Hall as well as Buddhism in general.

Following on, the group was led to the Temple’s courtyard to enjoy the Chan painting and elegant trees. BLIA South Island Director Tracy Wang and BLIA Young Adult Division member Rebecca Luk guided the ladies in folding paper lotus flowers, and explained the significance and uses of paper lotus flowers.

At the conclusion of the tour, the group enjoyed delicious afternoon tea at Fo Guang Tea House, where they were also presented with Dharma Word bookmarks as souvenirs. Members of the tour commented that the Temple environment was peaceful and serene. They also expressed their interest in visiting the temple again in the future.
