Auckland and Christchurch Committee Group Members and General Members get Together Dinner
Auckland and Christchurch Committee Group Members and General Members Get Together Dinner at 6pm on Sunday 9 November 2008.
Around 70 members of the BLIA from Auckland and Christchurch attended the get together party to enjoy a special, traditional vegetarian meal in the Tea House. Almeric Cheng, President of the BLIA in Christchurch and other members of his committee, who had also attended the Cherry Blossom Feast and Humanistic Buddhism Study Group Closing Ceremony in the afternoon, gave speeches to express their feeling and realization of others. They appreciated the invitation from Fo Guang Shan, Auckland, to share their experiences and appreciated the architecture of the Temple and its Zen gardens. They also felt touched and great that the Abbess and all Venerable, through their hard work, had carried out their mission. Venerable Abbess Manshin encouraged members of Auckland and Christchurch to interact and share their experiences and talents to support and encourage one another to create good conditions for the localization of Buddhism in New Zealand.
