Visits of Mrs. Anderton

On the 1st of November, Mrs. Carol Anderton, the wife of New Zealand Minister of Agriculture Hon Jim Anderton visited Fo Guang Shan South Island Temple. She was accompanied by former Christchurch City Councilor Mr. Ron Wright. They were welcomed by Venerable Abbess Manshin and Venerable Juexi.

During their visit, Mrs. Carol Anderton expressed her interest to participate in the upcoming events [Heart of a Child] and [Nature and Life – Flora Week]. These two events are organized by Buddha's Light International Association and it's Young Adult Division, which are to run through December. Mrs. Carol showed great interest in the events as she has previously been involved in many horticulture related activities and charities over the years. She also provided some very constructive suggestions regarding the events in hope that it will help improve the quality of the events and aid its smooth running.

Venerable Abbess Manshin presented the Fo Guang Shan New Zealand Grand Opening Special Issue to Mrs. Anderton as a gift and took her for a short introduction tour around the building. Mrs. Anderton was greatly impressed by the architecture and expressed interest to visit in the future.
