Meeting with Ron Wright

01 / 04

The first week of December will be Children's Week. To be part of the spirit during the week, Buddha's Light International Association South Island Young Adult Division will be organizing an Afternoon Tea at Fo Guang Shan South Island Temple for children with special needs, dubbed "Heart of A Child".

The youth group members will be teaching the guests YAD hand gestures and the Temple will be preparing afternoon tea for them to enjoy.
In addition, there will be a week-long flower expo organized by BLIA at the Temple's Fo Guang Yuan Art Gallery 2 on the 6th of December, with Ikebana showcasing their works of art.

On the 28th October, in preparation for the two activities, Mr. Ron Wright arrived at the temple on two occasions to discuss how the temple may cooperate with the local community to host such events. The first meeting was held at 10:30am and the following at 4:30pm.

Those present were Venerable Juexi, BLIA South Island Secretary Tracy Chen and Fo Guang Yuan Art Gallery 2 assistant curator See Shen Lee. During the first meeting, Mr. Ron Wright suggested the organisations and children who may be invited to the afternoon tea. After liaising with the relevant organizations, Mr. Wright shared with the meeting participants the contacts he had found.

He also expressed his promise that he will help the temple in any way to the best of his abilities.
