Oratia Craft Group - Temple Visit
16 October 2008
Today a group of 42 members of the Oratia Craft Group visited the temple between 11am and 2pm. The began with a temple tour (guided by Graham and Venerable Miaoyu), followed by calligraphy which was demonstrated by the Venerable and then a lovely vegetarian lunch at the Tea House. After lunch Graham guided the Lotus Origami activity which ended with a group photo on the steps of the main shrine. The group then spent about 30 minutes viewing the wonderful embroidery and art exhibitions. They were a very enthusiastic and interested group who were able to take everything at a relaxed pace and have fun at the same time. As their Craft Group is quite experienced in thread and yarn crafts such as knitting, sewing, and weaving - they particularly enjoyed the magnificent examples of embroidery on show. As usual the organisation of the tour and activities were expertly handled by Melissa.
