Temple Tour Guides’ Second Training Session
On the 9th of October, the second training session for the Fo Guang Shan South Island Temple Tour Guides began at 3 o’clock in the afternoon. Buddha’s Light International Association South Island committee member Mr. Jack Liu, Ms. Wang and Fo Guang Yuan Art Gallery Assistant Curator Ms. See Shen Lee were the teachers to the 10 volunteer Temple Tour Guides.
Collectively, they taught the tour guides how to manage different situations as they arrive, as well as lecturing on the history and mannerisms required for being a tour guide during the Art and Culture Festival to being held at FGS South Island Temple on the 11th of October. Venerable Juexi also suggested that the tour guides should employ a relaxed approach, and talk about the Temple in a manner which goes with the flow, as this will give the temple more of an energetic feel.
As this is the first time for many of the BLIA South Island Young Adult Division members to be a tour guide, it is inevitable for them to feel a bit nervous, but they are all supportive of each other.
Being the first time the youths will be introducing people around the temple during the Art and Culture Festival, the youth decided to peer up for each of the many tour groups, as this will allow them to accompany each other to help the visitors have a wonderful experience at the temple.
