Children Camp 30 Sept to 11 Oct 2008
The aim of the camp held at Fo Guang Shan Buddhist Temple, Auckland, during the school holidays was motivate the young people to learn through experiences that could be put into practice during their everyday life.

To enable the young people to learn about morality and mindfulness
Theme:
Teamwork, sharing and appreciation
Activities:
The young people took part in a variety of activities which included, art, singing, Maori culture, Buddhism stories, reading, demonstrations (that included a visit from the St Johns Ambulance Service), Tai Chi and meditation. They also had cooking classes, set tables, washed dishes, cleaned windows and weeded the gardens.
All of these activities enabled the young people to work together, share their experiences, appreciate their own efforts and those of others, including their good fortune of having this experience offered to them by the Temple.
