Friends of FGY Art Gallery CHCH Support the Local Art in Action
On 20th January, Gayel Marquet, which is a member of Friends of Fo Guang Yuan (FGY) Art Gallery Christchurch has purchased the oil painting Pomegranate by Russian artist Natalia Dybova. The painting is a gift to her good friend, Nic.
Gayel and Nic met in 1977 and became colleagues after graduating from high school. They served in New Zealand Army during that time and as the army have a strict discipline life style, as both of them encouraged each other and become best friends. After discharge from the Army, both of them still keep a close contact.
Gayel has bought Natalia's oil painting Pears last month as a Christmas gift for her husband. As she appreciates the hard work of the artist and wanted to share the joy with her best friends. She bought this painting as a surprise for Nic. Nic was deeply touch by Gayel’s attentive and she is honor to have such a bestie and truly treasure friendship among them.
Gayel is an active, optimistic and energetic friend of FGY Art Gallery Christchurch. She was invited to the opening ceremony of Wen Jung Hsu’s World Tour Exhibition on 14th Jan. She was deeply impressed by the artworks of Mr. Hsu and happy to introduce more people to understand and visit the FGY Art Gallery CHCH.
