Free Chinese Medical Checkup for BLIA South Island New Zealand
In order to prevent diseases and help BLIA members and Christchurch folks to better understand their health situation over the cold winter period, the 1st Chapter of the Buddha’s Light International Association (BLIA) South Island New Zealand invited Dr. Chen to host a “Chinese medical health check” for the public on 15th June. The event was attended by the 1st Chapter President Louisa Kuo, Vice President Heidi Lee, and other BLIA members making up a total of about 30 people.
After taking their number, everyone waited for their turn to see Dr. Chen. By taking their pulse, observing their face and breathing, as well as through understanding their daily habits, Dr. Chen could tell them important information about their body’s condition. Besides receiving treatment from the doctor, Dr. Chen also said that good health can be maintained through a healthy diet and good work life balance.
Over the three hours checkup, the BLIA folks realised that they themselves needed to have a healthy body before they can properly serve others at the temple. They are very grateful to BLIA for organising this wonderful event during the cold winter period. Dr. Chen also thanked FGS and BLIA for giving her the opportunity to conduct the checkups at the solemn and peaceful temple.
