English Subchapter Members Continue to Propagate Dharma
In the morning of 29 April, the BLIA English sub-chapter held a meeting for future planning with more than 10 members from the Buddha’s Light International Association (BLIA) South Island attended the meeting. Amongst the members are BLIA South Island President, Bernie, Vice-President, Ding Lihson who also chaired the meeting, Secretary, Jessie Teo and English Subchapter leader, Sally Lim.
The meeting started with Vice President Ding concerning on the Sunday English Buddhist Study Group methods and references to study on. He then introduced the “Complete Works of Venerable Master Hsing Yun” to the members and suggested to pick one of titles to be referenced. President Bernie then continued the introduction of the books by categorizing them into 12 parts and the members have voted on which category that they would select.
In the end, with the help of Secretary Jessie Teo and Leader Sally Lim in making sure everyone understands the categories and helping everyone in agreeing to solutions, it is concluded that, the Sunday Buddhist Class will commence from 13 May onwards from 10am to 11.30am with the book Core Teachings as reference. Members will take turns in heading the sessions and two members from the study group will be representing a sharing session that will happen on the 22 July with other subchapters of BLIA South Island.
Senior members in this group have also agreed to keep up with technology and join in the WhatsApp group chat to keep up with ongoing activities such as Keep NZ Beautiful and dharma talks that will be held in the future. All members have started not only to join the group, but to also invited those that have not attended the meeting. They have also vowed in helping to inform each other in giving everyone convenience hoping to propagate Dharma to every corner of South Island New Zealand.
