Elders Visited FGS South Island - Sensed the compassion and Peacefulness from Buddha’s teaching

On the 23th February, Hornby Combined Probus hold a monthly gathering in FGS Christchurch. With a great impression of their previous visiting, group leader Bev O’Connor and all the 13 elders were happily gathered here again and received warm welcome by the Art Gallery Staff, Juin Mei.

During the temple tour, the elders had learnt more about the founding concept of FGS by Venerable Master Hsing Yun. They were admiring and deeply touch by Master’s effort and his wisdom in developing the Humanistic Buddhism all around the world. With more than 250 temples on five continents and allow peoples from different ethnics to receive the Dharma nourishment. Besides that, they also rang the Happiness Bell located in courtyard, enjoyed the artworks and two current exhibitions in the FGY Art Gallery Christchurch and pay homage in Buddha Hall.

The elders share their curious and actively raise questions towards what they see and heard during the tour such as Are word characters cast on the After a Thousand Miles statue?; What are the function of Dharma Instruments? How old is Venerable Master Hsing Yun and how long he been dedicated to Buddhism? All the questions were answered by Juin Mei.

After the tour, they had enjoyed the delicious food and a pleasant moment in Water Drop café, they also compliment the service provided by the café staff. As for this trip, they learnt lot of new knowledge and the group appreciate the staff with an applause. They looking forward to their next visit especially for the upcoming Yao Hong ying Embroidery Exhibition.
