01 / 05

On 1st April 2021, 15 people from New Zealand Government and the disarmament and security organisations came to the Water Drop Café at Fo Guang Shan (FGS) South Island to dine and have a meeting. They included Hon Phil Twyford (who is concurrently the Minister for Disarmament and Arms Control, the Minister of State for Trade and Export Growth, the Associate Minister for the Environment and the Associate Minister of Immigration), officials from New Zealand Ministry of Foreign Affairs and New Zealand Disarmament and Security Centre leaders Lucy Stewart, Dr Kate Dewes, Robert Green RN and staff.

Among those who attended the meeting was Jeremy Moses. Jeremy came to dine at Water Drop Café when it first opened. He was very happy with the delicious vegetarian food served at the Cafe and has since then become a long-term loyal customer. He has even recommended the Water Drop Cafe to his partners in the organisations he serves. On the day, after spending a wonderful afternoon at the Cafe, everyone at the dining party was very happy and was full of praises for the delicious vegetarian food served and the beautiful environment there.

The New Zealand Disarmament and Security Centre is a non-profit organisation. It was established in Christchurch in 1998 as a virtual Centre connecting disarmament experts, lawyers, political scientists, academics, teachers, students and disarmament proponents. The main roles of the Centre are to reinvigorate public’s awareness on disarmament and to remind the public on the disarmament strategies reached and adopted.
