BLIA South Island NZ inspects Embracing Love and Peace Venue
BLIA South Island NZ is organising the “Embracing Love and Peace – Praying for Christchurch” event to be held on 2 November. Temple Minister in Charge Venerable Jue Xi, BLIA South Island NZ President Bernie, and four other BLIA committee members went to the Burnside Aurora Centre to inspect the venue and follow up on some details on 19 September. They were greeted on arrival by Leiticia and Richard.
BLIA South Island NZ President Bernie and Deputy President Ding Lihson asked about the preparation of equipment needed for the performance, venue decorations, seating arrangements and other details, all of which were answered. They were mindful that this is a charity event and that the more people who can attend the better, so Leiticia was willing to provide space to put up advertisements to attract a larger audience.
The aim of the “Embracing Love and Peace – Praying for Christchurch” event is to gather everyone’s good thoughts to pray for Christchurch which has been struck by a series of unfortunate events and also to promote the importance of love and peace. Representatives from various religious groups are also invited to participate, including more than ten Venerables from Australia and New Zealand who will perform a Buddhism Hymn. Moreover, thanatologist, Dr. Eric Kwong will be giving a speech, and there will be several wonderful dance performances by the Dun Huang dance troupe and Maori folks, singing by a famous Christchurch City Choir group, as well as dialogues between religious leaders. The team wanted to make sure that every preparatory work is completed on time to ensure the success of the whole event.
