Condensing the essences of these adventures, more than 10 photo albums and travel notes were published by Roy. In addition, Roy was also a social activist. He strongly advocated public welfare. For example, he appealed to the public to support the NZ Fred Hollows Foundation for the Visually Impaired with donations instead of flowers. He also strove for the installation of the Peace Bell in Christchurch, making it possible for the people of Christchurch to convey the message of World Peace by striking the Peace Bell at Hagley Park on World Peace Day every year (For all the years, BLIA South Island has been invited to attend the event). Roy was also recognized for his extraordinary deeds in his simple life. He was awarded the 2017 Christchurch Civic Award by Christchurch Mayor Lianne Dalziel. Roy was a true warrior who advocated for World Peace enthusiastically. He would attend Fo Guang Shan (FGS) South Island Buddha's Birthday Festival yearly to pray for World Peace.
