On 11th June 2022, the BLIA World Headquarter organised the 2022 BLIA Lay Dharma Teacher Online Training Seminar and invited BLIA World HQ President Most Venerable HsinBau, Acting President Venerable TzuJung, Secretary-General Venerable ChuehPei, Director of FGS Pure Land Cultural & Educational Foundation Venerable HuiZhi and Lay Dharma Teachers from BLIA worldwide to give lectures. Committee member Muyang Wang represented BLIA North Island to attend the seminar with others150 participants who vow to become a Lay Dharma Teacher.

"From Disciple to Dharma Teacher" is a goal set by Venerable Master Hsing Yun, which aimed to cultivate the talents spreading the teaching of humanistic and compassion value, especially promoting the practical way of peace and kindness in the society. The online seminar gathered numerous proficient Venerables and Lay Dharma Teachers to share their experiences to achieve the vision of Letting Buddha's light shine on the universe; the Dharma water to flow in all five continents.

In the speech of Most Venerable HsinBau, he encouraged the public with Four-Line Verse, hoping all settle their mind with Dharma. Venerable ChuehPei introduced the seminar outline, hoping everyone could grasp the keynotes in this limited time. Venerable TzuJung and Venerable YiKong urged the audiences that a lay dharma teacher should speak words that give others joy and are acceptable. A good Lay Dharma Teacher should start from three perspectives: physical, verbal and mind.

To make good use of resources online, Venerable HuiZhi demonstrated the process of material selection, framework establishment, article interpretation, and evaluation with the theme of Rebirth. BLIA ROC DeQuan Li explained the way of self-study for Lay Dharma Teacher, including using fragmented time, reading planning, categorising and filling, as well as practising.

Presentation is incomplete without attractive presentation slides. BLIA ROC Lay Dharma Teacher Anderson Dai and Li-Hui Hu shared the topic of "Presentation Production and Online Interaction" on information collecting, classifying and archiving. They also explained the use of media and audio from the perspectives of template layout, design, font size and colour usage.

After the lesson, Muyang expressed his gratitude to FGS NZ for allowing him to learn from those wonderful BLIA members, and he vowed to join the Dharma propagating group. The seminar was full of valuable and practical information on improving his presentation skills and confidence in faith. Actions speak louder than words, and he hopes to contribute more to spreading great values toward the local community in New Zealand.
