01 / 06

New Zealand Police delivered an inspiring seminar to the young people of Fo Guang Club on 24th July. To continue the positive impact, Sergeant Sunny Sun of Counties Manukau Police Station and Asian Ethnic Community Relations Liasion Officer Constable Kevin Deng came to the Auckland Temple on the afternoon of 28th July. They had a fruitful discussion about the Mind Purification Project plan with Abbess Manshin and youth members. Various ideas sparked in the meeting and the project will be extended to further workshops, Mindfulness Tea Meditation, seminar and many more. The objective of this project is to enable the youths to purify their mind in order to foster harmony within self, encourage positive relationship with families and others, construct a harmonious society and eventually work towards world peace. Sergeant Sunny expressed that he is delighted to create more opportunities to interact with the young people, assist them in building a healthy and positive attitude towards life, as well as sharing experiences and information with them which will then enable them to face the challenges and tests in life confidently and bravely.

Abbess Manshin feels grateful and appreciates the opportunity to work with the New Zealand Police in constructing a safe community through prevention. In particular, seeing the New Zealand Police performing their frontline duties with courage, persistence and perseverance, using wisdom to solve difficult and tricky cases, and witnessing them guiding misled teens with compassion and patience. All of this has made the general public admire and appreciate police officers more. Fo Guang Shan New Zealand is grateful to contribute its part in building a harmonious society.
