Australian Women’s Weekly NZ Magazine Interview
Australian Women’s Weekly NZ magazine is a must-read for every person, particularly for every woman in NZ, as it provides latest information on news, technology, inspiring stories and cooking recipes. This year, the magazine features interviews with various religious organisations in NZ regarding the activities planned over the Christmas. On 6th November, the editor of the magazine, Fleur and a photographer visited Fo Guang Shan Buddhist Temple New Zealand for a special interview session.
The team’s arrival was cordially welcomed by BLIA YAD Nick and Vicky, where they were led to visit various shrines. In conjunction with the opening ceremony of Art Salon, Abbess Manshin guided the team to visit the exhibition hall and introduced the fantastic artworks by over 90 artists. According to Abbess Manshin, the first Art Salon was organised in 2017 with the aim to propagate Humanistic Buddhism via arts. In that year, the exhibition received overwhelming response from the public as approximately 6000 visitors presented themselves for over 154 masterpieces by 32 artists. This year, the artwork library is further enriched with about 389 artworks, which is further subdivided into smaller categories, namely oil paintings, acrylic paintings, watercolour paintings, glass art, jewelleries, pottery, photography, wood sculptures, bronze sculptures, stone sculptures and Maori weavings.
Fleur expressed her gratitude to Abbess Manshin for her hospitality. She enjoyed the serenity of temple and she promised to spread the idea of Humanistic Buddhism via her writing, with the aim to share happiness with the readers.
