Aotearoa Quilters National Association World Tour Exhibition to debut in Christchurch on year 2021

On 18 December, Aotearoa Quilters National Association and SAQA Oceania Director Committee member Julia Arden visited Fo Guang Yuan (FGY) Art Gallery Christchurch to follow up their exhibition details scheduled in next year.  FGY Art Gallery NZ’s Public Relations Ryan Wang, Kok Wei Low and Karzin Leong from Auckland welcomed her in person.

The Quilters Association is organising a world tour exhibition among three International Cities in France, New Zealand and Japan next year. The organiser hopes to exhibit their artworks in New Zealand first before displaying it in other countries. The Association have decided FGY Art Gallery NZ as their prime exhibition locations. The Quilters Association will exhibit 90 of their international quilting artworks in Christchurch gallery from 3rd April to 2nd May 2021, Auckland gallery from 22nd May to 27th June 2021. The exhibition’s opening ceremony will be commerce in early April 2021.

On the same day, Julia signed the exhibition contract with FGY Art Gallery. The curator of FGY NZ Galleries Venerable Abbess Manshin admired the excellent artworks of quilting artists and will sponsored both FGY art galleries exhibition venues for Aotearoa Quilters National Association. It is hoped that through this exhibition collaboration, the international quilting artists and FGY art galleries will achieved a rising level for both parties, Christchurch arts will once become a highlight attraction for all.
