A Painter Artist’s Visit to FGY Art Gallery Christchurch
On 19th February 2021, Zhang Hai Hua, an oil painting artist from Beijing, who has migrated to Christchurch New Zealand, visited Fo Guang Yuan (FGY) Art Gallery Christchurch to discuss about matters pertaining to her planned exhibition there. She was received by Gallery Public Relation Officer Ryan Wang. Hai Hua’s mother is an artist herself and Hai Hua has inherited her mother’s artistic genes. Since she was a child, Hai Hua has been passionate about artistic creation. Through self-study, she has figured out the creative styles of Western art masters William Waterhouse, Alfons Mucha, and Sir Frederic Leighton, and at the same time, Hai Hua has also been influenced by Impressionism as well as Modern Art.
Hai Hua 's subjects of painting are portraits, creatures in natural habitat and landscapes, and her media of painting include oil painting, watercolour painting and pencil painting. She likes to use her brushes to record images of beautiful objects. Be it a classic masterpiece or a graffiti, or even the simple smile of a character or the wind and the grass of Nature, none of these can escape Hai Hua’s brushes. What is rare is that Hai Hua has never repeated her artistic creations. This is because she is always into new challenges and is fond of exploring a wider range of creativity.
Hai Hua is a frequent visitor to FGS South Island’s Water Drop Cafe. After her meal, she would visit the exhibition in the FGY Art Gallery and is always impressed by the exhibits there. To date, Zhang Hai Hua has accumulated more than 40 paintings and hopes to exhibit them in the FGY Art Gallery Christchurch to share her artistic creations with the Christchurch public.
